Synopsis

At Praia dos Pescadores in Vila Chã, a once-thriving fishing hub with up to 120 boats on its sandy shores, only five remain active today. The sea no longer yields the abundance of the past, and the decline of artisanal fishing is a reality felt across the entire Portuguese coast. Amid an aging workforce, the resilience of 23-year-old João Pedro stands out. Defying his parents' wishes, he has been devoted to the craft since the age of 17, driven by a lifelong passion for the art of fishing. Through João's perspective, the story unfolds, capturing the struggles, traditions, and enduring spirit of a fading fishing community, the beauty of the beach, and the unyielding bond with the sea.
